The Institute of Technology and Innovation Management at the Hamburg University of Technology (TU Harburg) initiated a joint research
project with the titel: "Prospects of Mobile Commerce in Germany" in cooperation with University of Hamburg.
The project encompasses several aspects of Mobile
Commerce, namely: Mobile Banking, Mobile
Entertainment, Mobile Information Services (also known as Mobile Content), Mobile Marketing and Mobile Ticketing.
The objective of this extensive study is to analyse the potentials of a
range of
selected mobile commerce applications in end-consumer segment and to
identify the most-promising ones.
Apart from the thorough study of the above mentioned mobile
applications, this project also intends to contribute towards a better
understanding of the phenomenon of Mobile Commerce, which has been
defined by many scholars in probably as many ways. This project aims to
clearly define a (holistic) perspective of Mobile Commerce,
differentiating it from Mobile Business, Electronic Commerce and
Electronic Business.
